Harold Washington Library Center

Join NSPN and the Chicago Council on Science and Technology (C2ST) for a conversation with policymakers, legal experts, and researchers as we explore AI’s influence on medicine and the crucial role science policy plays in shaping its future. You’ll have the chance to engage with the experts and share your own questions and insights.

Science doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Society shapes what gets researched and which innovations move from concept to reality. Science policy, at both local and federal levels, sets the guardrails that can either accelerate or slow this progress. One of the most dynamic areas where this is unfolding today is artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on medicine.

AI is revolutionizing medical research and holds incredible promise for personalized medicine like never before. However, it also raises concerns about the misuse of sensitive personal medical data and other ethical challenges. How can science policy help us stay at the forefront of innovation while ensuring these advances protect and benefit the people they serve? Speakers to be announced soon!

This event is FREE and open to the public.
